Les Calanques

We went to les Calanques at Callelongue yesterday for our Friday off. "Calanques" are steep-walled inlets, coves, or bay found around the Mediterranean coast. The one we went to probably wasn't the biggest, but it was incredibly beautiful. Along the way we saw an amazing coastline and view of Marseille.

We saw poppies growing on the side of the road.

There were these beautiful purple wildflowers everywhere and yet we can't manage to find their names anywhere.

Just part of a little village nestled in the coastal mountains of the Calanques.

And then LES CALANQUES themselves in all their glory :) I didn't take this picture but I wanted a better shot of what it looks like overall.

Photo credit for the next few goes to Kevin.

And then we jumped in! Kevin did too but he got at one point and took our picture :) It was freezing but we swam around for about a half hour--in the Mediterranean, people. It was sooo cool!!

When we finished up at the Calanques we took the bus back to Marseille and fell asleep on one of the beaches. #roughlife ;) It was a beautiful day.

Jenna and I will definitely be visiting the Calanques when she comes down here to visit.

Have a great weekend!

Love,

Stéf
