Le Corbusier

We had the day off today so in the afternoon/evening we went on a walk :) We went to see "La Cité Radieuse" (an complex built by Le Corbusier, commissioned by the french government in the late 40s as communal living space that included all the necessities of life: a school, a work place, living quarters, etc. It didn't work out so well but it's an interesting idea!) We got to go inside and on the roof. Pretty cool stuff! People still live here.

The top of the building was the preschool, where kids where kept while their parents worked.
Not a super clear picture but this is the hallway of the floor for business I believe--so these doors lead to offices. Each is painted a different colour.

This is part of the amazing view from the top

A view in the other direction

Then we walked down to the beach and saw some beautiful buildings along the way.

A replica of le David--with a seagull on it's head as it directs traffic

And then this wonderful advertisement for a Snoop Dog concert

This pictures for Ben and Jenna: they have these alllll over the place. The green one is glass, the blue is paper I think and the yellow is bottles... sometimes like that.

There were kids everywhere today :) It was really nice to see families out enjoying their day off and showing their kids or grandkids the city. I remember my mother doing the same with us. We went to Old Québec all the time!

Have a good weekend!
